After purchasing the Uniden BC125AT scanner, I needed some headphones for my 8-year old son and I to listen to the race chatter for this year's Indy 500. These headphones were an excellent choice! The only additional piece I had to purchase separately was a headphone splitter so we could both listen together. The over-the-ear design did an excellent job of blocking out the engine sounds so we could enjoy the frequency broadcast. However, I will point out that we were sitting in NW Vista with no overhang and we had the volume on the scanner and headphone cranked all the way up. Therefore, if using in grandstands that have an overhang where the engine noise is amplified, I would definitely recommend a volume booster. But overall, I would recommend these headphones for use at a racetrack.
