I think this is a grand purchase if you love your audio and are in need of a boost in clarity. So as of now I'm using this with an ENOG2 PRO dac from Geshelli Labs. What came with it is a tiny wall wart for 12v supplying 0.5a. This iFi iPower supplies 1.8a at 12v.To me, there is an improvement in:-Soundstage-Detail-ImagingNow all of these can be piled into one explanation and for me it seems that because cleaner power, it is easier to pick out and seperate details in songs like 'Dreams' from Fleetwood Mac like the instruments from vocals and where the are placed in a song. Since there is more clarity in the song the soundstage begins to present itself differently, in such a way that is more revealing. Everything just sounds less artificial. Less digitized. Is it worth $50? To me, yes. I love my audio and am constantly on the quest for amazing sound and the cost of this piece. If you're looking for cleaner sound, hey, check it out!*FYI I just received this adapter today and have only an hour or so on it. That's how excited I am to share my experience. Super happy :)EDIT:So recently I picked up a linear power supply from another maker, one of the larger dc regulated power supplies. I'm supplying the correct voltage to the DAC and at $70 this LPS is performing better in noise reduction. I'm hearing my music more clearly. This isn't to say that the iFi is not doing anything, in fact the iFi iPower was a step above the wall wart that came with my DAC. But for a bit more money yes I have a power supply that is bigger, bulkier and won't fit on my desk, although, it creates more full bodied enjoyable listening experience.
