Not happy with this purchase. I bought this for my husband and the bottom part with the air control is always glitching. Its fuzy or has solid colors. There are several companies that provide a way to upgrade the infotainment system in 2010-2014 Mustangs. The SYNC 1 system in my car quit working, so the Bluetooth & voice function was gone. I bought the Metra interface because it was the most affordable, you can configure it with the big opening at the top or bottom, and it allows you to choose what kind and size of head unit you want to install. I put a Boss radio, Android, Bluetooth, backup camera unit in, it also has a slot for 32GB SD card. The Metra unit was not complicated to install and their tech service was very good. Because the SYNC system was dead I did need to contact Metra with some questions, but their answers were quick and helpful. I put the head unit in the upper (larger) portion of the interface and the Metra HVAC controls are in the lower portion. The whole thing works great and is a big improvement on the old system, especially since SYNC 1 doesn't do much and I had no use for the CD player. My steering wheel controls also work correctly....and never worked entirely right before that. The strangest thing is that I was getting sporadic but frequent TPMS errors for months... and they stopped as soon as I uninstalled this unit.Metra customer support is not helping. This is a COMPLETE KIT. It includes all the wiring necessary to convert your horrible microstink stereo from Ford into a high-tech command center. To reiterate, you don't need to purchase anything other than a receiver unit along with this kit. I purchased an antenna adapter as well because someone on this page said you needed to but it is included, so now I'll have to try and return it. I highly recommend getting a receiver with CarPlay because it works very well. As far as this kit specifically, there are a TON of wires, so as long as that doesn't scare you, you're good to go. My climate controls seem more responsive with this than with the stock controller. Plus if you have heated seats and the shaker like me, all that functionality is retained with this cat. Both units I received (and a 3rd from elsewhere) needed a firmware update. When installed they created a parasitic draw they would kill a battery overnight. Called Metra and the tech immediately knew what the problem was. They emailed a firmware update that fixed the problem.Does the job. You need to check for updates before installation and in 2 out of 2 units a cable was missing to connect the steering wheel remote. Manual is missing some functions and the installation instructions are outdated. You need to download the most recent version from Metra. Needed to consult technical support twice and got fast and quality answers. Once you have it sorted out, it’s a good product. A bit pricey compared to the older versions Metra offered. It works perfect, and the kit is complete, all the connections fit perfectly and you don't have to buy anything outside the kit. Just follow the installation instructions, and it will work fineMuch cheaper than box store by a couple of hundred dollars for exact same thing. No issues. Looks great
